Hole 18

Patterned after the 18th hole at the famed Heather Golf Course at Boyne Highlands, number 18 is a magnificent finishing hole. Strategy begins on the tee when you have to hit your drive close to the water without going in.  From the back tees you have 270 yards to the waters edge.  But the fairway is downhill and when it's dry the ball runs farther than normal.  If you stay too far back of the water you are left with a long shot to carry the water to hit the green.  Surprisingly most players come up short on their second shot.  The green is 220 feet from left to right so your look into the green changes dramatically based on hole location.  One of Northern Michigan's most photographed holes, the 18th provides great excitement to the completion of the round.  "Don't be intimidated by the water, keep your head still on the second shot and you will do fine."
